  •  How To Carve A Figurine
        • My first carving was with a pocketknife and a branch off a Montana Russian Olive tree. Had no idea whereto start or what to do with it.

My first piece became a little girl in long braided pigtails. After that I carved anything and everything I could get my hands on.

Yes. I bought the special tools, wood and books to create just the right carving. For me it didn't work out and I went back to my rocking chair and pocketknife. It takes longer but its many hours of pure delight.

I usually cut out a piece of wood in the size I want and then draw my figure on all four sides. Other times I use wood from the wilds and try to create from the woods natural beauty. I use paints or natural finish but decide on that after I take a look at the finished piece.

You might say my process is simple but unique. Its basically that one of a kind carving that I try to end up with. A carving that anyone can treasure for future generations.....Thank you for stopping by and seeing these creations. With the help of my webmaster (cause I'm not computerized) there will be more carvings to chose from in the near future, so drop by anytime.

I do take special orders and requests if you would like me to create something you have in mind or on a picture don't hesitate to let me try my trusted pocketknife and carve it for you. Just drop me a line.
